Service IWC Shaffhausen chronograph calibre C.79320/ETA 7750

The same client that sent the Rolex in has now sent in his IWC. Like the Rolex, this watch also stopped abruptly after a game of golf.

Well it’s very obvious what made this watch stop! as the watch has not been serviced in a long time we also decide a full service is in order.

Important not to forget the pusher extender piece.

Dial removed you can see the day date mechanism.

The date ring sits on a separate plate that comes off the movement.

With the plate removed you get to the hour recorder, day/date wheels and the setting/winding mechanism.

Time to start taking apart the upper chronograph layer.

The reverser wheel is held in place by the same bridge that holds the second and minute recorder in place.

You can see there is quite a bit of dirt.

Almost down to the base movement.

Movement cleaned and ready to be put back together.

I see the balance moves freely after fitting the cap jewels.

Base movement back together and ticking.

Super performance.

Chronograph layer coming back in place.

Day and date back in place and working as it should.

Dial and hands on the movement and I test that everything works like it should.

Movement goes back into the movement.

Another watch that from now on will stay away from the golf fields;)
