Service: Omega Seamster calibre 268

P1070137 This lovely Seamster is running but the hour and minute hands are not moving. This is due to the cannon pinion being loose. Other than being very dirty, this watch looks very good!
P1070136

Case back is super tight and I do not want to risk scratching the excellent case back!

P1070138

Nothing better than finding a movement in good condition!

P1070148

Dial is in very good condition! All the compound is still solid and aged nicely. So I will leave it as is.

P1070149

I start taking the movement apart.

P1070150

Here you can see the gear train layout.

P1070151

Mainspring in the barrel.

P1070162

Movement has been cleaned and is ready to be put back together.

P1070185

Mainspring oiled and put into the barrel.

P1070186

I see that the balance moves freely after fitting the shock jewels.

P1070187

Gear train back in the movement looking like new.

P1070188

I start putting the setting/winding mechanism in place.

P1070189

I have tightened the canon pinion and put the setting/winding mechanism in place.

P1070190

Now the movement is put back together and ticking!

P1070191

Very nice performance.

P1070192

Movement ready for dial and hands.

P1070193

Dial and hands go back onto the movement.

P1070195
