This stylish Certina is not running and I suspect it has a broken mainspring.
Movement does not look too bad.
Here you can se the winding/setting mechanism.
Train bridge removed and you can see the gear train.
As expected a broken mainspring.
All the parts clean and ready to go back together.
New mainspring fitted.
I see that the balance moves freely.
Movement comes together without any problems.
Setting/winding mechanism back in place ready for the dial.
Movement looking very good.
Watch is preforming okay, but I was expecting better.
I found that the mainspring I ordered from our supplier is thinner than originally specified, so I order a NOS mainspring on E-bay.
The upper barrel arbor hole was borderline worn so I decided to make and fit a new bush.
I feel much better about the watch now that it has the correct mainspring and I have repaired the upper barrel arbor hole with a new bush:)
That is more what I was expecting from this watch;)
Very nice dial on this watch! I also replaced the crumbling old luminous compound.
Real mid 60’s classic.
