Service: Lemania BBC issued 105/Calibre: 1281 mitka88 7 years ago This great looking watch has been handed down to the client from his father and needs a service. Amplitude is good, but the movement is dry and has dirt. This watch was bought by BBC when new. Movement looks to be in great condition. I take the movement out of the case. I remove the dial and hands. The hour recorder construction is just like the cal 27. I start taking the chronograph layer apart. Down to the base movement of this 1281. Here you can see the gear train layout. I now take apart the setting/winding mechanism. The old mainspring. I have cleaned the movement. Now testing that the balance moves freely after fitting the shock jewels. I fit the crown wheel underneath the gear-train bridge. Gear train coming back in place. I fit the setting/winding mechanism and hour recorder. Base movement almost back together. Movement back together. I find the 1281 almost like a hybrid of cal 27 and 873 with a little more wire spring etc. Dial and hands back on the movement. Movement goes back into the ref: 805 case. Preforming like a new watch. If this were mine it would be a keeper! Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook
