Service: Patek Philippe calibre 30-300 PM mitka88 7 years ago A customer has sent in his Patek Philippe calibre 30-300 PM for a service. Movement does not look especially dirty, but there are some fibres here and there. Dial and hands before I remove them. I notice there is a little more dirt on the dial side. I now start taking apart the gear train. Here you can see some of the gear train exposed. I will take out the mainspring and clean it. Movement cleaned and ready to be put back together. Mainspring is oiled and put back into the barrel. I see that the balance moves freely after fitting the shock jewels. The ratchet wheel is placed on the underside of the barrel bridge. I fit the barrel and barrel bridge. I now fit the setting/winding mechanism. The gear train goes back into the movement. I’m happy to have a ticking movement again! I must say it does look very nice. That’s good enough for an old Patek;) Ready for dial and hands. Dial and hands back in place Movement goes back into the case.
