Not the first Diver by Citizen, but the first model to hit international markets in 1969. These watches where made to be used and their mid ranged pricing made it a popular choice with professional and hobby divers alike, gaining the popular nick name: “Challenge diver” This watch is a original survivor from October 1969 and in good condition.
Case ref: 4-540115 Y made in October 1969. Case in good condition with original bezel. Crown has plate loss and is a non screw down variant. Movement is a calibre 5470 in-house Citizen calibre. Has been fully service in January 2022 and running well. You can see service photos here. Glass crystal has been replaced with a sapphire crystal.
Due to the crystal light reflection on camera it’s hard to capture the true look of this amazing dial. The dial has some fading and the luminous compound has aged to a dark green, but overall very nice condition.
