Another very cool watch was sent in to be restored! This time a Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8020U. It’s got a broken mainspring and the case is a little rough!
The movement looks great. I love the micro regulator! I start with sending the case off to Replateit in Canada.
The dial and hands.
Here you can see the winding/setting mechanism after removing the dial.
I start taking the base movement apart. Plenty of cap jewels in the gear train.
Here you can see the gear train layout.
As suspected the mainspring was broken! Wow I always love a jewelled barrel lid!
Not to worry I have NOS mainspring ref#401-431
Movement has been cleaned and is ready to be put back together.
I see that the balance moves freely.
Gear train comes back in place.
I see the gear train moves freely.
I fit the balance into the movement and it’s ticking again!
Superb performance!
The dial and hands go back onto the movement.
Movement goes into the newly restored case and looks super!
A great looking watch. The quality of a Lord Marvel movement is very close to the Grand or King seiko!
Hi, Awesome job there restoring the Lord Marvel.
I have a Lord Marvel 36000 which needs to be serviced or perhaps restored.
Can you please email me. Just need a quote before I send it over. I am in Canada.
