Revue Sport 50’s re-edition from the 90’s calibre: MSR X1
A customer has sent in his lovely Revue sport that has stopped. It has the in-house calibre MSR X1 and I suspect a service will get it running again. I’m especially happy to work on this as when I was 16 I almost bought one as I loved the design.
It’s the first time I’m working on a X1.
Dial and hands removed you can see the winding/setting mechanism.
The pallet is rather unusual as it has a vertical pin that hits the bank guard that is situated on the pallet cock.
Very standard gear train layout in the MSR X1
Movement is cleaned and ready to be put back together.
I fit a new mainspring.
I see that the balance moves freely after fitting the shock jewels.
Gear train goes back in place looking great.
Movement back together and ticking.
I’m happy with the performance.
I managed to clean the dial up and it’s looking sweet!
