Movement review Cyma calibre: 444-446 series

Around 1950 Tavannes Cyma co launched the last version of their 12″ hunter movement that arrived already in the 1920’s. Several movements are derived from the 12″ including the fantastic calibre 234 used in the MOD WWW watches. This final variation was designated the calibre R444 (sub second) and R446 (sweep second) and had two different jewel counts 15 and 17 jewels. This movement vary a lot when it comes to surface finishing, the finest and most difficult versions to find are the chronometer rated movements.
