Revue calibre 59 was launched in 1937 as a replacement for their calibre 56. It had a larger diameter and better suited for larger watches coming into vogue. It is a robust movement that was used extensively in sports and military models. Vertex used the calibre 59 in their WWW watches and the German army ordered Revue sport models for their DH issued watches. The calibre 59 was later phased out for their calibre 77, but some where used as late as the mid 1950’s.
