A client had sent in this cool Yema chronograph, it is missing it’s bezel ring insert and not keeping time.
When the Timegrapher can’t pick up a signal it’s a good indication the movement needs a service;)
Movement looks to be in nice condition.
Dial and hands are in excellent condition.
I now start taking the chronograph layer apart.
The click is situated on the dial side of the movement.
It’s good to take photos to keep track of where all the springs go.
The winding/setting mechanism is a little old fashioned.
I now start taking the base movement apart.
The ratchet wheel is underneath the barrel.
Old mainspring.
Here you can see all the parts cleaned and ready to be put back together.
New mainspring in the barrel.
I see that the balance moves freely after fitting the cap jewels.
Base movement back together and ticking.
That’s a little better;)
I now start putting the chronograph layer back in place.
Plenty of wire springs in the Valjoux 92.
Movement back together.
Ready for dial and hands.
Great looking dial.
Movement back in the case.
I fit a new bezel ring insert and the watch looks great!
Interesting that the bezel numbers are reversed. Is there a reason for this?
Count down bezel.
hi is the new bezel original or aftermarket part?
I would not know as the customer supplied it with the watch:)
